  • Learn basic methods for reducing pressure.
  • Learn some methods to keep you in a good mood.
  • Understand the importance of being accompanied by friends.

Main objects

In this post, we create an edited video to introduce you some useful methods that help you stay happy. Also, we will provide you with a brochure and pictures to understand the contents.

Steps to be happy

· Firstly, you could spend less time imagining the difficulties and problems which you might meet in the future. It is important to find ways to overcome the problems in your life. However, overthinking about the difficulties that do not occur is more likely to cause negative emotions, even anxiety. That is to say, instead of worrying about what your future might be, you will spend more time enjoying your life right now.

· Secondly, try not to compare your life with others. With the development of social media, such as Instagram and TikTok, you can easily check out your peers and celebrities’ lives. Chances are that you would compare your life with theirs and complain about the problems you encountered. However, the majority of us are willing to share the happy things that happened in our lives without mentioning the difficulties we met. Thus, it is meaningless to compare with them.

· Thirdly, keep in mind that setbacks and difficulties are not terrible. The most horrible thing is losing the courage to overcome them. After all, life is cruel. For the mediocre, frustration could only have a negative influence on them. They are likely to complain about the difficulties instead of overcoming them. However, for wise people, frustration is a significant part of life. They prefer to enjoy the joy and sadness of life.

· Last but not least, you can find a way to relax. For instance, proper exercise is conducive to relaxing the muscles of the whole body and increasing the secretion of pleasant substances (dopamine) in the body, to relieve tension and anxiety. Also, enjoying a great movie and listening to your favourite music is also an effective way to relax. You could choose your own way to relax.

I think the question: how to be happier, is a lifelong proposition for everyone. Some people may think that earning more money will make them happier. Some people may think that sports will make them happier. Of course, some people think that eating good food can make life better and happier, but in my opinion, happiness is to enjoy life with the people you love.

I don’t know if you’ve heard the story of a boy who had two apples, and he gave one of them to his best friend so that they both had double happiness. Sharing is the basis of happiness, so I prefer to have dinner or drink with my friends or boyfriend. When happiness becomes a flowing atmosphere lingering in the air, the emotions of people around will also be unconsciously infected. Happiness, of course, can also be a continuous acquisition of new knowledge. Although learning is a hard process, the sense of achievement it brings is also worth it. Take me as an example. In the first two years, I was very afraid of learning. When I met a difficult problem, I thought about how to escape instead of how to solve it. But right now, I prefer to take the bull by the horns. While I still think solving problems is never easy, the rewards of hard work make me happier.

Reducing comparisons is also a big secret to staying happy. Nowadays, the pressure of social competition is becoming more and more intense. In my country, children not only need to finish their homework in school but also need to finish all kinds of after-school tutoring. Although the proper comparison is an essential part of self-progress, the proper adjustment will also reduce their pressure, to obtain more relaxed and happier. I think it is the right value of life to keep a balance of mind, to satisfy oneself properly and not to aim too high. From my personal point of view, physical happiness is always a low level of happiness, people should have a greater pursuit and ideal in the spirit. If there is no pain, then how do we perceive pleasure? I have always counted overcoming difficulties as one of my spiritual pleasures. I absolutely do not believe that success can be achieved without hard work, just like the Buddhist concept of karma.

Take me as an example: I was studying in an international high school in Shanghai. For studying abroad, the only way was to pass the language test. At that time, my English was very poor, and I didn’t want to learn English. At first I was only motivated by my parents’ expectations and pressure, which made me completely passive; when I forced myself to study, I found that my grades began to get better, and I got praise from others. I gradually began to love learning foreign languages. Besides, I’m a complete behaviourist. I don’t believe in the myth of learning. It takes hard work to improve, though I don’t deny that there are better ways to learn by rote. After half a year’s hard work, my Duolingo score reached 135/160. I felt very proud that solve the difficulties by myself. Physically, I was tired, but mentally, I grew to like it. I need a sense of accomplishment when I’m stronger by myself. It’s the happiest thing in the world.

See you again, Tengfei.

I have to admit, you are the best member of our group. I can always learn a lot from your blog, and you are a role model for us all. You also set up some templates specifically for your site, and they look great. As the class draws to a close, I wish all of you get good grades, and we can work well on final Assignment 4. See you later.

Week 6 blog

With the development of multimedia in recent years, the form of short video almost occupies the whole multimedia market. The main reason is that visual reading is more receptive and novel. Personally, I like to use Tik Tok to watch beautiful girls and funny content. I used to interact with short videos as an audience, but today I made my first video. I have to say that video editing and shooting require a lot of experience and skill.
First of all, in the original video, this is the video I recorded in the UK on holiday before. There is no background music. When I added the audio, I found that I also needed to cut the audio length to match the original video length. It cost me a lot of time.
Second, I added text at the beginning and end of the video, especially at the beginning, and I added animation effects that made the whole theme disappear one or two seconds into the video.
Finally, I want to say that this course is almost over unconsciously, and I have learned a lot of novel multimedia skills. I believe it will help me a lot in my future life. Thank you to my team members and professors.

Hi, Teng Fei. I like your blog very much. This time you did not look at the problem with your own examples, but your article still contains a lot of knowledge. With the impact of the pandemic, online courses are becoming more and more common, so we must continue to pay attention to the quality of teaching. And we can’t predict when the next pandemic will be, so online education becomes very important, thank you for sharing.

Weekly post 5

During this week, I finished Assignment 3, but the process was not smooth. In the beginning, I didn’t know what to do, and I communicated with my team members for a long time before I understood all the requirements of Assignment 3. In the process of doing this, I think the most difficult part is to deny the past self because we can’t look at things from an objective point of view, we are always biased and self-satisfied. It’s hard for me to see anything wrong with my Blog. Therefore, I went to my friends to ask for their opinions after reading my article, how they felt about it, how I could do it better, what parts were unnecessary, and so on. With their help, I soon changed my way of thinking. I revised the layout of the whole article and replaced some boring words with pictures. I believe the professor will see my progress from Assignment 3.

Assignment 3

After a few weeks of study, I looked back at the post I had written before, and I was shocked that I would deny my work and revise it more wisely. I’m going to compare the two Post screenshots.

VS

I couldn’t get a clear shot because of the setting, but we can see clearly that I changed the layout. The reason is that when I looked at my Blog 3 again, I didn’t want to read my words. My first impression was that there were so many words mixed together that I couldn’t read them with interest. Not to mention for a stranger reader, my blog from the beginning was lost at the beginning. So I broke it up and gave each paragraph a subheading so that the reader knew at a glance what was going on in that paragraph.

In addition, I inserted two photos to correspond to my paragraph. Let’s start with the first picture, which shows a farmer checking the condition of his plants and helping them when appropriate. If plants are compared to us, then farmers may be the people who help us in life, affecting our entire growth process. If farmers had not helped the plants, they might have died. Another implication is that we only grow the right plants in the right places. Maybe this land won’t grow rice, right? These pictures can give the reader a visual impact, even thinking, rather than simple words, which are too boring.

Finally, I also added a question for readers at the end of the Blog, my purpose is to let readers read my article, and have their own thinking, so as to deepen their understanding.

Hi,tengfei.

I can’t agree with you anymore, and our ideas are very much similar. Let’s make an in-depth study of Canva. I believe it will play a very important role in our future work or study. In addition, I think I should keep up with the development of The Times, instead of always using traditional things, we should make bold innovations and choices. Canva is a good example and should have been chosen long ago.

Blog 4:Design of Multimedia Learning Objects and Artifacts

Among our traditional multimedia tools, the software we use most is Power Point and Word documents, but for the vast majority of inexperienced Power Point creators, they tend to edit a lot of text on each page of PowerPoint. Such slides are pointless and extremely inefficient, like electronic books to the viewer. The purpose of these software is to help us better understand new things, so it is necessary for us to learn deeply.Personally, I like to leave a large part of blank space on each page of my PowerPoint, because I only need to show the core of each content. When I explain, I will use my own understanding to explain. I don’t want my audience to look at my PowerPoint instead of listening to me. In the process of sharing with others, you can also improve your ability, such as expression, language and logic. I like things that are simple but full of detail.

Canva is a great creative platform. I actually used it a long time ago, but I didn’t really dig into it. To this day, I find that Canva meets all creative needs and is much more convenient and fast than other software. I expect I can experience more fun in the future.

Comment on Tengfei’s post 3

First of all, thank you for using your own real examples to do an analysis. You and I have a lot of empathy, and I think most of us have experienced this, and all of us wish we could achieve more success with less effort. This is extremely unrealistic. I think everyone more or less has certain prejudiced thinking, and escape is also one of the human instincts. When we are not good at something, the first choice is to avoid it, but sometimes it is best to face it.
